Course Summary
Who it’s for: If you enjoyed your experience in Introduction to Acting we’ve got some great news- you’re just getting started! Acting Mastery is our core ongoing program and it offers the opportunity to master the skills you’ve learned as well as continuing to learn new ones.

What it’s about: Acting Mastery is really the heart of our program at the Michigan Actors Studio. It is here that you will gain the confidence, skills and experience to help you achieve your goals. It’s an ongoing course which means that it’s meant to be taken more than once.  We recommend that our students spend at least 6 months in this program in order to build and solidify their process and craft, but it doesn’t have to be 6 months in a row. Our ongoing program offers flexibility; you know what works best for you. You can take time away to let the teaching sink in, and when you come back, we’ll pick up where you left off.  With exercises and deep dives on topics designed to make you a more well-rounded actor as well as challenging scene work, Acting Mastery introduces you to more advanced concepts while building on what you’ve already learned. The class will feature guest instructors in specialized areas such as improv, voice over and the art of the self-tape. These industry professionals will work with you in their area of expertise. Your studies will be guided by our Lead Instructor, Kate Peckham who is dedicated to the empowerment and growth of each student. You will be challenged to take risks and push yourself to the next level, while also being provided the individualized feedback and guidance you need to grow as an actor. Through a variety of exercises, improvisation games, and scene work, you will have the opportunity to hone your acting skills and deepen your understanding of the craft and how to collaborate with your peers. We will meet you where you are, while offering you the tools to get to where you want to be.
